Istanbul now Constantinople

Today is our World Walk (nee International Parade), aka “International Parade of Cultures”. I don’t know why they changed the name. It is really wonderful to see so many students dress in beautiful clothes from around the world. it is also one of the rare times where primary students mix with secondary students. I enjoy seeing the Littles enthusiastically greeting their older siblings and friends and the older kids being gentle and sweet with the wee ones. There is a feeling of madness in the air which is part Autumn, part Allergies, part bare midriff, and part schedule out the window. It is a fortunate thing that what I do in class can be flexible.

Also the zipper on my folklorico dress refuses to cooperate so I am held together with safety pins and determination today. It’s okay…no one will be looking at ME.
