Labor

My current Herculean labor is to not be in the same room with the giant water bug that has come to play. I don’t particularly want to kill it, but I most particularly don’t want it in my house. We are not speaking the same language at the moment. The exterminator did the exterior on Friday and they did warn me that there might be “an uptick” in the bug sightings…I don’t typically have bugs in the house, so even one is an “uptick”. Even when I see these creatures coming, I still make an inhuman noise that I’m pretty sure only bats can hear. Little bastards…the buts, not the bats. All three of the dogs marked the beast’s trek across the living room, but not one of them did anything to interfere. I guess the bugs don’t taste good.

Today I am trying to gather myself and get a few things actually done. My bedroom is rearranged and “done” (all I intend to do until I figure out next steps for remod). I am going to do some big-girl college work and try to get a donation pile going so I can carry it to the car and get it out of my house. It is so nastily humid outside that I can’t really bear the thought of going out, but I have to go to get the fixin’s for bake-witchery…I’m going to visit some former students tomorrow, and one should never arrive empty-handed.
